Friends,
I have a confession to make. For the first week of March, prior to the safer at home orders when we were hearing murmurings of needing to make some drastic changes to daily life, I was actually kind of excited. I know, I know, that sounds insane and insensitive but in my defense I think I was in denial (hello, stages of grief, anyone?). What was exciting to me was the thought of spending all the time I would normally commit to slugging through LA traffic immersed in books! I've always loved reading. I was the kid who would intentionally get sent to my room so I could finish whatever novel I was devouring at the time.
Now that we're six weeks into "Safer at Home" in Los Angeles, I'm going stir crazy BUT I have managed to get through several amazing books. Here are some recommendations, please reply with your new favorite reads! If you decide to pick one of these up and want to compare notes, you know where to find me!
It's About Damn Time by Arlan Hamilton
Untamed by Glennon Doyle
Becoming by Michelle Obama
The Millionaire Messenger by Brendon Burchard
More Myself by Alicia Keys
Dare to Lead by Brene Brown (I re-read this one...because a pandemic!)
